Let the bees come then. Let there be another time & enough. Let this empty cup brim another cup.
Let the bees come then. Let them gather us. Let there be another time & enough, enough. Let this empty cup brim another cup.
Let there be room & the afternoon light against skin, let the comb rest with the child's hairs in it.
Let the bees come then, let them gather us. Let there be another time & enough, enough. Let this empty cup brim another cup.
Let the bees golden. Let there be room to lie in & the afternoon light against skin, let the comb rest on the dresser with the child's hairs still in it.
Let that ordinary room of ordinary joy, yellow, & the bees enter this woman, empty. Again let their ecstasy, your blue umbrella upturned in the hall, the red plastic boots, also wet, a field of glazed blossoms busy with stumbling bees, what honeys from the briefest touch: petal, pollen: what's borne aloft on spindled legs. Let curators of wax galleries ripen hollowness to flesh. Let them gift forth as metaphysicians to fill us till the improbable becomes us & absence is distilled till found & belonging we gather our faces turned to the sun.
