Composer, makeup artist April 5 2025, Église du Sacré-coeur-de-Jésus de Montréal (Mtl, QC)
A new Passion Oratorio, using the fragmented poetry of Sappho to create a narrative celebrating queer love, joy and resilience, for three choirs, four soloists, string quartet, organ, electronics, and dance. Using the form of a Passion Oratorio, which was traditionally used to tell the story of Jesus' death and resurrection, but recontextualized by using Sappho's poetry to tell a story of queer liberation. Commissioned by the Sapphonix Collective. Kim also designed and applied drag-inspired makeup to the four soloists for the performance.
